Series Details:
Our Donor Conception Reflection Series is a three week guided journalling mini-series designed for parents or parents-to-be via donor conception and their partner or support person (who have pursued donor egg, donor sperm or donor embryo).
Through thoughtful writing prompts, personal reflection, and optional group discussion, you’ll have the opportunity to slow down and explore the parts of donor conception that can be difficult to put into words. We’ll explore genetics, identity, parenting, your child's perspective, and your role through donor conception.

What We’ll Explore
Session 1: Beginning With Yourself
Before we can fully consider our child's experience, we can begin by understanding our own.
We’ll explore:
Your identity and the experiences that have shaped you
What genetics has meant in your own life
Feelings about genetic connection and resemblance
Why genetics may or may not matter to your child
How becoming a donor-conceived parent may have changed the way you think about family, genetics, and identity
Session 2: Parenting Through Donor Conception
Your child’s relationship with their donor conception story may evolve throughout their life.
We’ll explore:
Talking with your child about how they came to be
Questions your child may have at different ages and stages
What conversations might feel easy—and which might feel harder
How your child's perspective may differ from your own
What your child may need from you as they navigate their donor-conceived identity
One of the exercises invites you to imagine the same situation from both the parent's and child's perspective—not to predict how your child will feel, but to practice making room for an experience that may be different from your own.
Session 3: The Parent I Want to Be
Donor conception is part of your child's story, but you get to decide how you show up within that story.
We’ll explore:
What happens when your child feels differently about donor conception than you do
The values you want to bring to parenting
Honesty, curiosity, openness, autonomy, emotional availability, and family connection
Where your own feelings may make parenting through donor conception more complicated
What your child may need from you as they grow
What your role is as a parent when your child's experience isn't the same as yours

You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out.
Maybe you've felt completely at peace with donor conception.
Maybe you've struggled with feelings you didn't expect.
Maybe you're somewhere in between.
All of that belongs here.
Donor conception doesn't end when your child is born. It becomes part of your family's story—and that story can continue to evolve as your child grows.
This mini-series gives you dedicated space to pause, reflect, and consider what that story means to you—and how you want to show up for your child within it.
Come with your questions.
Come with your uncertainty.
Come exactly as you are.
There are no right answers here. Just an opportunity to listen to yourself a little more closely.
